Just finished the YMCA Burton Sleepout 2024

And there’s still time to help the homeless and the hungry

Not long back from last night’s sleepout which was strangely enjoyable, even though it had its challenges. Spent the night bedded down behind a sarcophagus near the edge of St Modwen’s graveyard with over 30 other compatriots scattered around me.

I didn’t manage to get much sleep, but I managed to get a reasonable amount of rest. The night was not too cold, but was damp with dripping undergrowth and mist coming in as the night progressed. No ghosts or ghouls but there were some interesting rustling sounds coming from the undergrowth and rumours of small rodents visiting us.

The task has been completed successfully but will not be forgotten, and please remember it is not too late to donate and that no donation is too small.

In fact, if every person reading this donated only £2, this could more than double the total amount being collected.

Donations can be made at https://www.justgiving.com/david-alexander-sleepout pledges sent to da***@al*******************.uk

Finally,

I would like to thank all those that have made donations or pledges. I would also like to thank my companions for their company and #PaulLaffey, the YMCA Burton team and volunteers for organising the event, and giving their time overnight to look after all the participants.
