The winning team from the Alexander Accountancy annual charity quiz night have been presented with their trophy.
Director Richard Faulkner visited networking group Business Focus Burton to deliver the trophy in recognition of their general knowledge prowess at the event, held in aid of YMCA Burton.
The quiz, held at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium on Thursday October 9, also included an auction, raffle and true or false game all led by quizmaster Richard Lloyd, raising £5650 in total, including £2000 in match funding from Barclays.
The fun evening raised funds for Alexander Accountancy’s longstanding charity partner, YMCA Burton, a vital local charity providing supportive and safe housing for homeless people across three sites in East Staffordshire.
Business Focus Burton (BFB) is billed as “a friendly yet dynamic, informal and independent group of companies that meet every Thursday morning”.
Safe homes
Alexander Accountancy Chairman David Alexander said: “YMCA Burton have written to us to express their gratitude for the funds raised, which will directly support those experiencing homelessness.
“The charity emphasised how the money transforms lives, providing safe homes for people previously sleeping rough or sofa surfing, and offering emergency food parcels that help families through difficult times.”
