Lisa Aylett
Client Manager
Lisa joined Alexander Accountancy in the summer of 2025 and works as a client manager.
What drew you to accountancy?
I have been working in accountancy since my early 20s. I am a bit of a nerd and love figures as I enjoyed maths at school. I enjoy the numerical side of the job. My dad was self-employed so I understand the way that small businesses work. Some clients want everything done because they have no time, some want guidance and some want to do it all themselves. You get to know the clients and their needs.
What do you enjoy most about your role at the firm?
Our clients seem to be dedicated to their businesses. A lot of clients are on systems like Xero which helps with the bookkeeping side. I am interacting a lot with the clients. We consider it important that the clients get the service they deserve.
Is there a professional achievement or qualification you are particularly proud of?
My proudest achievement was to get a degree as I came from a working class family. My father was a bricklayer and no one had been to university. I studied business and maths.
Outside of work, what hobbies or interests keep you busy?
When I am not working I love to spend as much time as possible outdoors. I particularly love spending time in the Peak District with my dog.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone just starting their career with Alexander Accountancy, what would it be?
Ask a lot of questions if you can. Do not be afraid of asking how things are done if you put it the right way.
