Leanne Heathcote
Client Manager
What drew you to accountancy and what do you enjoy most about your role at the firm?
I studied business studies at A-Level and enjoyed the accountancy module. I seemed to get the concept of balancing accounts quite well. I was then given the opportunity to complete an accountancy apprenticeship after school and have been in practice ever since.
In my role as client manager, I really enjoy pulling figures together and making everything balanced. It is a great, friendly environment here with lots of opportunities to get involved in charitable activities.
Is there a professional achievement or qualification you are particularly proud of?
I completed my Association of Chartered Certified Accountants qualification as an apprentice in college during full time employment over three years. I am very proud of that.
Outside of work, what hobbies or interests keep you busy?
I enjoy swimming with the kids and doing activities at the local sports and social club. In the warmer months I like being outside and enjoy gardening and helping out on my mum’s allotment.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone just starting their career with Alexander Accountancy, what would it be?
Ask any questions if you are unsure about anything and make plenty of notes until you get used to the systems and practices that they follow.
What’s something that might surprise people about you or your background?
In my early twenties I used to weightlift and then moved on to CrossFit and competed in local competitions. I love being active and hope to get back into CrossFit in the future. It was great to be able to exercise as part of a community.
