Alexander Accountancy is offering to help private landlords with the implementation of the new Renters’ Rights Act, which comes into effect on May 1.
The act will bring in a host of changes made by the Government with the aim of improving security and fairness for tenants. Among the most significant changes is the end of “no fault” Section 21 evictions, which have previously allowed landlords to evict tenants without giving a reason.
Alexander Accountancy supports property professionals with the support they need to meet their compliance requirements and the information required for the successful management of their business.
With access to industry experts who also have a wide-ranging network of contacts in this sector at every level, Alexander Accountancy supports property landlords and investors who may have a single letting, or portfolios that can include residential lettings, houses of multiple occupancy (HMOs), holiday lets, commercial lets and other property types.
Chairman David Alexander recommends landlords get in touch if they are unsure how the incoming changes affect them.
He said: “At Alexander Accountancy we offer a wealth of experience to support property landlords, including help with the new Renters’ Rights Act.
“Not only have we been able to help clients but we have access to useful tools such as a recent East Staffordshire Borough Council kit which encourages landlords to follow steps to comply with the new Act.
“The steps include issuing the Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet 2026 to every named tenant on the agreement by May 31, providing written terms to tenants and documenting your compliance for a potential audit trail.”
Regular Alexander Accountancy-organised social networking event Property People is open to anyone with a genuine interest in or connections to the property sector.
Property professionals are invited to sign up for the next session on Thursday June 4, when the keynote speaker will be Anthony Murphy of Veritas Facilities Management. Registrations are open via the Alexander Accountancy Event Brite account.
Property People remains free for first-time visitors, with tickets priced at £27 plus the Eventbrite fee for returning attendees. Innovations for 2026 include plans to set up LinkedIn and WhatsApp groups to add value for anyone who attends.
