The year’s first Networking for Charities event, backed by Alexander Accountancy, was held to unite businesses from Derby and Burton, allowing them to network and raise funds for local charities.
The new year kicked off with the group’s first event, held at Pride Park Stadium, Derby on January 21 with more than 20 businesses eager to collaborate in aid of charitable giving.
Businesses in attendance included YMCA Derbyshire, You-Zone, Holiday Inn Derby, HubtelIT, Making Plans Architecture, CMC Business Advisers and Lilian Prime MS Centre.
Delegates enjoyed presentations from Dionne Reid from Womens Work, a charitable organisation who run support networks for vulnerable women and David White from cyber security and IT specialists Wytech.
The event, led by Kings Office Supplies raised £200, with £100 donated to Derby County Community Trust and Womens Work.
Director Richard Faulkner commented: “What a great start to our year of Networking for Charities.
“We encourage as many businesses as possible join us for the Networking for Charities events. They are a good opportunity to network with like-minded professionals whilst support good causes in the local community.”

The next Networking for Charities event will take place on Wednesday February 18 from 12:00-14:00 at Harrison’s Hub, Pride Park Stadium, Derby.
