Businesses can get free advice on tax planning and structuring companies for success at a series of Alexander Accountancy workshops.

Burton-on-Trent-based Alexander Accountancy is offering practical help on a range of key topics to enable business owners and senior managers to make informed decisions.

The two hour sessions will cover business start-ups, planning for year end, business and personal tax planning, plus company structures and strategies.

The first workshops will be held at the Alexander Accountancy office in Granary Wharf Business Park, Wetmore Road, on February 10 and 24. Further dates are planned for March 10, April 14 and April 28, with more to be announced.

The free meetings are being held as part of Alexander Accountancy’s drive to actively foster local connections through regular networking and information events, creating valuable opportunities for clients while strengthening the regional business community.

Alexander Accountancy provides key services for clients, including tax planning, business advice, budgets and forecasting services, as well as the preparation of company accounts. The team are also experienced in supporting new start-ups through to established small enterprises looking to scale up.

For start-ups the topics to be covered will include choosing the appropriate business format, registrations needed, plans for remuneration and the required record keeping and systems.

On year end, the sessions will look at the need for forward planning, forecasts, pension allowances and strategies. The tax workshops will focus on the need for reliable figures, ways of maximising the allowances available and ensuring you claim all the allowable costs.

Real advice

The advice on structures and strategies will cover the benefits of using a different business structure, the involvement of family members, group structure benefits, joint venture opportunities and the opportunities to use a holding company.

Alexander Accountancy Managing Director Wayne Penlington said: “We are holding the workshops throughout the spring to provide real advice delivered by real experts.

“With so many sources of information out there for businesses we believe they should not rely on the internet, AI or barroom experts when they can tap into the knowledge of the directors at Alexander Accountancy, who have around 100 years of combined knowledge and experience.

“Sessions will run from 9.30am on the selected Tuesdays, but other days and times can be requested in advanced subject to the availability of resources. They are free to anyone who has or is planning to start a business.

“The subject covered will be driven by the audience, as chosen by the first person to book on for each date. Bespoke one on one meetings can be booked in advance subject to the availability of the appropriate staff member. Relevant questions can be submitted in advance to make sure subjects are tailored to the audience.”
