Alexander Accountancy is playing a leading role in supporting local businesses to network and grow by becoming headline sponsor of a new Chamber of Commerce expo.
The first Business In Burton, organised by Burton and District Chamber of Commerce, will take place from 9.30am to 12.30pm on November 18 at Branston Golf & Country Club.
Alexander Accountancy is the headline sponsor for the inaugural event, with chairman David Alexander lined up to deliver a business seminar on taxation.
The chamber of commerce has organised Business In Burton to bring together local businesses to promote their products and services, make valuable connections with other exhibitors and delegates and discover new opportunities.
Head of Burton Chamber Richard Brooks said: “This is a great opportunity for businesses in Burton and the surrounding area to showcase what they do at our pop-up Business Show. Exhibition space is free of charge, giving businesses the chance to promote themselves while networking with other exhibitors and delegates.
“We are pleased to have Alexander Accountancy supporting the event as sponsors, alongside our skills partner, Burton and South Derbyshire College.”
Landlord impact
At 11am Alexander Accountancy chairman David Alexander will deliver a seminar on Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self Assessment, HMRC’s new system for sole traders and landlords to report income and expenses digitally rather than solely on an annual tax return.
In his talk David will explain exactly who it affects and when, what it requires of the taxpayer and how it will impact landlords.
The event also features a keynote workshop by Peter the Speaker, the entrepreneur best known for having successfully pitched in BBC TV’s Dragons’ Den, plus a short business seminar from mental health and wellbeing coach Claire Reeves.
Operating since 1984, Alexander Accountancy offers client services beyond compliance and tax advice to include back-office support and data processing, management information, budgets and forecasts, as well as assisting in negotiations.

Exhibitor stands are free of charge with exhibitors invited to make a £20 donation on arrival to Kids’ Village, Burton & District Chamber’s Charity of the Year. Attendance is free of charge.
Bookings are now open for Burton & District Chamber of Commerce members. Bookings will open for Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce members on 15 September and for non-members on 1 October.
