Tracey Faulkner MICB
CLIENT MANAGER
What drew you to a career in accountancy?
I have worked in offices ever since I left school, first in a purchase ledger role then at a company where I was in the mail order department and worked on the accounts side. I have been working in bookkeeping and VAT for quite a long time. When I was made redundant from my previous role I met with David Alexander and he went on to offer me work as cover for a colleague on holiday and I have never left since. I now look after a portfolio of sole traders, having had several roles with Alexander Accountancy including payroll, administration and marketing the business.
What do you enjoy most about your role at the firm?
I like the variety of clients who I am involved with. They are different characters with their own hopes and dreams. I like having the contact with the clients and we have a great team.
Is there a professional achievement or qualification you are particularly proud of?
I am qualified with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers but overall I am pleased with the progress I have made to get to the level which I am at.
Outside of work, what hobbies or interests keep you busy?
My family keep me busy. We have two lovely daughters and we like to spend time with them and their partners. We have an extended family so we have a lot of gatherings, usually twice a week. We have lots of dogs in the family so we get to look after them on a part time basis.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone just starting their career with Alexander Accountancy, what would it be?
My advice is to work hard and keep in mind your dreams. You do not need to be worried or anxious about anything as we have a great team offering lots of support.
